Latest RuPaul's Drag Race contestant has Minnesota roots

One of the contestants on the new season of RuPaul's Drag Race - which, if you haven't seen it yet, is probably the most entertaining reality show ever - hails from Minnesota. On the show, drag queens from all over the country (and Latin America) compete for the crown via a plethora of challenges that include comedy, costume-making, lip-syncing, dancing, spokesmodeling, and drag-world-specific entries like "throwing shade" (i.e., dirty looks combined with giving sassy, biting commentary to others). The gorgeous and funny Manila Luzon looks to be one of the contenders this season.

According to an interview with Socialite Life, she reveals to be born and raised in Minnesota before moving to New York, and her online bio says she got her start on the stage of the local gay club Gay 90s. The lone drag queen featured on the show was season one winner Bebe Zahara Benet, a Gay 90s regular back in the day, so her chances are looking good - and in the first episode, she received high marks for both her photo shoot and her runway look.
