Christopher Straub debuts S/S 2011 lookbook

After previewing his spring/summer 2011 collection at a couple of shows this past fall, local designer Christopher Straub has released images from the collection's lookbook, as photographed by Mike Hnida for a spread in Lavender Magazine.

I earlier reviewed the preview of the collection at Envision for Vita.mn and l'etoile, and a later showing for Le Petit. Let's take a look.















It must be said the styling greatly improves the overall style and look of this collection. On the runway, many of these looks fell flat, but these images present a chic, wearable collection for the most part. I still dislike that pear-colored taffeta ball gown skirt and the pale green one-shoulder dress looks a little off-the-rack, but the long print dresses really stand out - as do the bottom two dresses, which I have previously featured in a Minnesota Bride shoot and Oscar party preview.
