Local jewelry designer Emily Johnson finalist in national jewelry competition

Local jewelry designer Emily Johnson just took home honors for being one of the finalists in the 2012 NICHE Awards. Sponsored by NICHE magazine, the NICHE Awards program began in 1989 to celebrate excellence and innovation in American and Canadian fine craft. Johnson was selected from more than 1100 entries in nearly 40 categories covering a variety of mediums, both functional and decorative designs. The finalists will be on display at the 2012 winter Buyers Market, February 18 through 20, in Philadelphia, Pa., where they will be seen by hundreds of buyers from retail stores, galleries and museum stores, and the award Winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place during the Buyers Market on Saturday, February 18, 2012.
