It's a bit dicey to review an event I'm directly involved with, but Fashion Fight Night is too big of a local fashion event to ignore. To be fair, I'll review the two bouts I didn't compete against.
Round 1 featured photographers Jennifer Cress and Alli Jagoda. They both cater to top Minneapolis-based clients like Target and Best Buy, and glossies like Minnesota Monthly and METRO. It was the first time both have participated in METRO Magazine's third annual event. Jenn came out as the clear winner of this bout; the clothing, designed by local Hmong designer Pa Thao, was gorgeous; the styling was beautiful. The shots could've ended up in the pages of a fashion magazine as they are, despite the lack of retouching or the boxing ring back-drop. Alli Jagoda's shots, on the other hands, fell flat. The styling was dated, the looks seemed to be unrelated to one another, and the wigs came off as more kitschy than high-fashion.
