Stephanie Colgan shoots New York Fashion Week

Local photographer Stephanie Colgan has been shooting New York Fashion Week for years by now, mainly for an ongoing gig with the New York Times (fancy!). She shared with me some photos from the shows she's shot for so far, including Richard Chai and Nicholas K.

Richard Chai vs. Emma Berg

I just received an interesting tip on these two strikingly similar outfits. The left is from Richard Chai's Fall 2010 collection (just shown last weekend at New York Fashion Week), and the right is by local designer Emma Berg. It was debuted last fall in Minneapolis at the Scene-A-Sota fashion show.


While it's unlikely Chai was taking notes on local fashion, it's hard to ignore the similarities: black shiny draped pant; a sequined top in the same proportion; and a long grey draped knit vest. The undershirt sported by the Chai model, the color of the sequined top, and the minimized volume on the pant in Chai's version are the only dissimilar elements.
