Mall of America to replace Bloomingdale's with four new tenants

The Mall of America announced today that longtime anchor store Bloomingdale's would be closing in March.

"At least four 'major international fashion-forward retail stores" - three new to town - will replace Bloomingdale's at Mall of America, vice president of public relations Dan Jasper announced Wednesday. He was not ready to name names today, but three of the four are said to be unique to the area. We're crossing our fingers for Zara, TopShop, and Mango. Star Tribune has more details. A sale starts this Sunday.

Coming soon to the MOA: Michael Kors, Armani A|X

The Mall of America has just announced ten new retailers to soon grace its halls. Among the new retailers are many area exclusives: Michael Kors, an accessories and shoe store from the Project Runway judge; Armani A|X - Armani Exchange, the moderately-priced version of Giorgio Armani; and designer shoe line Stuart Weitzman. Other additions opening soon are Bettie Page Clothing, a chain that carries retro, 1950s-era clothing for pinup-styled ladies; Desigual clothing, Barcelona, Spain-based chain; British chain Superdry Clothing; A South African-based kids-clothing chain Naartjie Kids; See's Candies; Merrell Shoes; and virtual bowling alley Sky Deck Sports Grille and Lanes.

Showcasing looks from Mall of America stores and impossibly chic St. Paul men's shop BlackBlue with styling by Sheila Anderson and Michael Fiandt, Vision's roster of their top talent walked the floor - including Will Defiel, the former face of Calvin Klein; Mary Cann, who has been walking the runways at New York Fashion Week; and perennial favorite Ashlee Walker - to the chic beats of Anthem Heart's Ken Hannigan.
